EP Authenticator support EP Authenticator is the European Parliament's mobile app for multifactor authentication (MFA). It provides the extra sign in step needed to access EP systems and applications securely, for example, when connecting externally or opening certain protected applications.

What you need An existing EP account (username and password), set up through the usual process.

Where to start If you work for the European Parliament and need EP Authenticator to sign in, you already have an EP account to start from. From there, the EP intranet is your starting point - it has everything you need, from direct links to download the app to the step by step setup guide. We'd encourage you to look there first: it's the fastest, most reliable way to get set up.

GrapheneOS workaround

Note: This workaround is only required when using Android 17 and GrapheneOS.

Use the following workaround to run EP Authenticator App on GrapheneOS and Android 17.

This disables secure app spawning specifically for the EP Authenticator App, so the security impact is limited to this application and does not affect the protection of other apps on the device.

1. In the system settings, navigate to Security & privacy.
2. Scroll down to the Other settings section.
3. Select Exploit protection.
4. Scroll down to Secure app spawning.
5. Click on See all apps.
6. Select Enabled in the drop-down menu.
7. Select your EP Authenticator App.
8. Select Disabled.

2. Long-press the EP Authenticator App icon.
3. When the menu appears, select App Info.
4. Scroll down to the Exploit protection section.
5. Click on Secure app spawning.
6. Select Disabled.
